Become Your Own Barista

If you’re the kind of person who can’t start their day without a cup of coffee, then you may want to consider making your very own coffee bar. You could be spending tons of money by visiting your local coffee shop every morning (and afternoon). That money could be saved by developing your own coffee station at home. Here’s what you need to know about building a coffee station in your home.

Step 1: Start Planning Your Coffee Types

One perk of coffee shops is that they have a huge list of different types of coffee that you can order. While you may have your standard orders, you likely enjoy knowing there’s always a new brew around that you can try if you want to. Why not mimic this at your own home-based coffee station?

Start with selecting your favorite coffee flavors and brands. With so many different beans, brands, and types out there, you’re sure to find your favorite flavor. Then you can order a few new flavors and beans that you haven’t tried before.

If you’re ever feeling adventurous, those new beans are just waiting to be brewed.

Step 2: Get the Equipment

While you may not have the industrial set-up like coffee shops, you’ll find that having a few coffee machines will satisfy your needs just fine. There are tons of different coffee machines out there that can offer different features and services. Take some time to find the one, or a few, that will serve your needs.

Keep in mind the space for the station, too. If you know that you can only devote a single countertop to your coffee station, then you want to make sure that it can fit the machine.

Step 3: Design the Coffee Station

Perhaps the most exciting part is the actual creation of the station or bar. You can go all-out with this venture if you really want to. Devote a table to your bar. Have the machine there and ready to go along with your favorite coffee mugs. To truly make this a coffee bar, you need decorations.

Consider putting in a small menu chalkboard where you can write down the coffee of the day or the week. Add in some flowers or other coffee-related decorations that bring the station to life.

No bar is complete without a comfortable chair or stool to enjoy your coffee.
